Microbiology EQA schemes cover bacteriology, virology, mycology (and parasitology- detailed in separate flyer) covering a range of specimen formats and methods (molecular; isolation and identification; serology; microscopy and point of care). The schemes reflect current clinical scenarios as well as unusual, less frequently encountered microorganisms, with the primary remit of providing an educational service and assuring the quality assurance of the laboratory.
